PayDirt Payroll was created and is maintained by QLab Systems, a business systems support firm that has been providing computerized accounting, payroll, and business technology solutions to Canadian clients for over 20 years. As Adagio and ACCPAC business partners and database programming specialists, QLab´s principals, Phil McLeod and Darryl Polyk , have provided business solutions to hundreds of Canadian clients.

QLab created its first specialized payroll solution in 1983 and revamped that effort completely in 1988. The development of PayDirt Payroll today, however, is intended to address the ever increasing complexities of payroll across all industries.
